Tasting notes
Dense, almost impenetrable ruby ​​with a large core. Rich aromas on the nose. Fruity and spicy, with notes of sour cherries, raspberries, Mon Chéri, herbs, black bread, toast and a little vanilla. Flattering and complex. A robust start on the palate, the acidity is present, lively and perfectly integrated. The full-bodied tannins are of good quality and ripe, the aromas on the nose are repeated. A powerful body with full texture. Long and persistent on the finish.

Intense scent of ripe cherries and blueberries, candied fruit and sweet spices - an exciting combination! The pure Merlot matures for a year in French oak barrels.
Recommendation
A poem when combined with white meat or pasta al ragu.
Vinification
The grapes for this pure Merlot come from the best vineyards of the winery between Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci. Guado al Tasso had long discovered the potential of the grape variety for this location and experimented with it. But it was not until the 2011 vintage that bottling from 100% Merlot was legally permitted. After the strictly selective hand-picking, the grapes are gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in French barriques, 30% of which are new. After the first eight months of maturation in the barrel, the batches are assembled and returned to the barrel for another four months. After bottling, the finished wine is stored for an additional six months in the winery before it goes on sale.
